A Guide For When You Don’t Know What You’re Doing With Your Life

Soooo confession: I don’t actually have my life 100% together. I’m sorry to disappoint you with the misleading title, but I don’t have the ultimate key to happiness for your 20’s. (Does anyone? If you do & you’re reading this, shoot me an email ASAP, thanks). However, even though I may not have it alllll figured out (and probably never will) there are some things I’ve learned in the two years out of school that have helped me get a little closer to that crazy thing called “balance” and “contentment” in adulthood. How to Make All Your Moves Power Moves

*Hi there! Super excited to have a guest post~ here on Ampersand. Just like how I love sharing cool new things with you, I love when people share awesome ideas/tips/events with me! Meet my friend Sam–blog enthusiast & fan of Ampersand. Y’all can read her blog, F-Perfection, here & throw her a follow on Insta here

Sam is a marketing professional in the Philly suburbs. When she’s not writing or working, she’s probably watching Grey’s Anatomy (or Villanova basketball #gocats) or online shopping.

This summer has been amazing. I’ve spent a ton of time with two of my closest friends, Haley and Kasia. We’ve frolicked through the streets of Philadelphia, obsessed over Friday Night Lights, conspired together to have the Universe shower us with good vibes and bonded over mozzarella sticks discussing the trials and tribulations of being a single, 20-something working in the communication industry. (Kasia here: RT all that–thank goodness for good friends).

It’s been inspiring to be surrounded by strong, like-minded women who have similar goals and ambitions but also are down to have a damn good time while we’re young.

You think, “one of these feelings must be false. One is right and one is wrong.” But the reality is, you can hold one thing in each hand. I realized something about people recently. I was talking to a friend who was going through a similar situation I had gone through in the past. It was one of those times where, as a friend, you give your best advice–advice you often can easily give but seldom take yourself. She was struggling with the two contradicting feelings that we’ve all had at one point: the balance of wanting to let go but also to hang on. And I realized that 1. we all want to let something go but 2. we’re all desperate to hang onto it anyways.
