Likes & Favorites: It’s been a while! Happy 2015.

Well hi there! It’s been a while. With Christmas and New Year’s, family things and getting horribly sick (I can never escape the post finals cold…), I haven’t had much time to write. But I’m back! And I’ve had a wonderful start to 2015 so might as well write some of it down.

“Drinking without toasting is a shame.”

On Sunday, my dad informed me that my sister and I would be joining them for dinner with their friends. Lovely. Just a bunch of adults, awkward small talk and the requirement of nice clothes vs. sweatpants (which I had been wearing all day. Ugh). Well, to my pleasant surprise, dinner was incredibly fun, probably due to the fact that my dad’s friend believes in toasts. And lots of them. Seriously, I think we made 15 toasts minimum. (Read: I had a lot a lot of wine). The rationale is, if you’re together and drinking, might as well say some nice things too. I think I agree. Cheers to that.

Meeting Nice Australians.

For the first time in probably 5 months, all my best friends and I were reunited. Whenever we’re together, we go to this small coffee shop to catch up on everything and anything. This time, one of the main topics of conversation was my friend Haley’s upcoming trip to Australia. Midway through our conversation, an older gentleman comes over and explains (in an Australian accent) that he couldn’t help but overhear our conversation and would love to give Haley travel tips. He was literally the sweetest and so lovely to talk to. Guess it goes to show that you never know who you’re gunna meet!

Happy music.

I’m not a music guru by any means (that’s my sister) but I whenever I find an artist I like, I will listen to their entire album on repeat until I know most of the songs by heart. Current fave is Justin Nozuka and his album Holly. I had heard some of his stuff in the past, but my friend Ryan reintroduced me to him during finals. If you want a little chill, a lot of guitar and an easygoing vibe, check him out.

NYE 2K15

Ahhhh New Year’s. The made up holiday. I am not a fan of New Year’s and I’m pretty vocal about it. (I stubbornly resisted my friend Kara’s attempts to get me to buy a new sparkly dress for the night. Spoiler: I did end up buying a new dress, with minimal sparkles). However, this year NYE was probably one of the best nights I’ve had in a while. With all my friends finally legal, we went to a bar which turned into a pseudo-high-school-reunion/all night dance party. Great times, great memories. Plus I found a red lip stain that lasted through all of the night’s festivities. Win.

Cheesy Pinterest Quote.

I like Pinteresting. That’s no secret. I also like quotes. Which you probably could have guessed (goes with the writer thing). Found this quote and thought it was a nice sentiment for 2015. Sorry, cheesiness is over now.

life is your story

Liking spending a week with my besties & Favoriting 2015 starting off surprisingly, yet amazingly.

Likes & Favorites: Home for the holidays

In the 27 hours I’ve been home, I’ve:

  1. Had a decent meal that does not include pizza, milkshakes or an excessive amount of carbs
  2. Picked out a Christmas tree
  3. Strung lights on said Christmas tree
  4. Baked 4 dozen cookies
  5. Listened to 3 hours of Christmas music
  6. Watched 2 and 1/2 Christmas movies
  7. Sat by a crackling fire

Safe to say, the most wonderful time of the year is full swing in the Jaworski house. Time to be merry, y’all.

I love Old Movies.

My roomies don’t agree, but I love old movies. One of my favorites is White Christmas with Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby. I truly believe I was born in the wrong time, so maybe that’s why I love these old movies so much. (And this one in particular because it’s all about Christmas.) Even if they’re not your style, at least appreciate the amazing dancing, vintage style and Vera-Ellen’s killer bod.

{Why can’t we dress/dance like this^ today??}

Say yes to sangria.

After my senior project presentation last week, my group and I went out for drinks. I got the house sangria and I’ve wanted to make some ever since. This one I found on Pinterest looks super festive and easy.  Here’s how to make it. Cheers to sangria and Christmas cocktails in general.

Say yes to sangria

A very Aca-Christmas.

Continuing on the acapella note from last week, Pentatonix has a Christmas album. You should listen. I guarantee you’ll like it. And if you don’t, then I question your taste in music.

All of the Cookies.

Every year, my mom, sister and I spend a full day baking Christmas cookies. If baking cookies doesn’t get you into the spirit, I don’t know what will. Our favorite cookies to make are called “Spritz cookies.” They’re by far the most time consuming and so worth every second. I would give you the recipe that’s been in my family for generations, but it’s a secret.

WildCats love Orange Juice.

And probably my most favorite moment of this week (and not to mention the BEST way to start break) was witnessing Villanova beat Syracuse in basketball. If you know anything about Nova bball, you know that playing Syracuse is an emotional roller coaster, complete with near heart attacks, abundant cursing and the occasional tears. This year, my dad and sister joined me in the student section for probably one of the best games I’ve ever witnessed. Click here for the highlights of the game. And here to see us literally losing our minds when we made it to overtime.

Likes & Favorites: Hi, I’m procrastinating.

It’s finals week. I’m procrastinating by blogging. Go team.

My Senior Project Group

Take 6 individuals with strong personalities, 1 awesome adviser, a killer topic, 20+hours writing an analysis, a near all-nighter, countless social media breaks/YouTube videos (mostly Blank Space), dozens of CampCo latenight milkshakes, funny document titles, and color coordinated business attire, and you’ll get an amazing semester working on the biggest group project of your life. Shout out to #InvestClub7 for being awesome and killing the presentation game on Tuesday. #ByeFelicia

club can't handle us.

Tiny Mason Jars

The roomies decided to do a secret Santa between the 4 of us and I was beyond excited to give my roomie Juile these mason jar shot glasses. They’re cute, a little country and the right amount of basic. (Want them? You know you do.)

feel classy taking vodka shots

{look how cute&fun!}

Aca-Awesome Friends

I happen to have a lot of musically talented friends in Acapella groups, which I guess makes me a self-proclaimed aca-groupie. One of the best parts of the holiday season is the acapella concerts. I can’t sing for the life of me, so I appreciate those who can. Now you can too.

{This is the SuperNovas. Same mashup I saw this week, different performance}

{Say hello to the lovely ladies of Nothin’ But Treble. They don’t have their most recent performance online, but watch one of my good friends, Julie, kiiiiilll it during Acapellapolooza last spring. I lost my mind.}

Carbs & Caffeine

Essentially the finals diet. You can’t fight it. You know you want that third cup of coffee and Swedish fish as you waste away in the library. Like I’m doing right now. Forever.

Working off all those Carbs & Caffeine

After starting the finals diet, my friend shared this video on Facebook which immediately made me want to work out. I’m going to 8am yoga tomorrow morning because of it. It’s all about balance, right? I can eat all the bagels and candy I want if I work out? Cool, glad we agree.

Liking an excuse to wear leggings for a week straight & Favoriting blowing through every playlist I’ve ever made while I study.
