For the past 3-ish years, my group of friends and I have had Friendsgiving. It started off at Nova where we’d rent out a lecture hall on campus for our 50+ friends, with desks lined with our attempts at classic Thanksgiving dishes. Last year, having just graduated and most of us still shambley from #adulting, we skipped Friendsgiving but brought it back full force this past weekend. Our guest list dwindled from 50 to 15, and we relocated to my friend Chris’s house, but it was probably the best Friendsgiving to date.
Early on, our friend Francis offered to do the decorations for the occasion. Personally, I was so excited to see what he was going to put together because Francis is one of the most creative & thoughtful people I know. Well, he blew away my (and everyone else’s) expectations. When I say my friend Chris’s living room was prettier than my wedding will ever be, I’m not kidding.

Francis went above & beyond for decorating our table. He had boxes of candles, gold plates, flowers, greenery & more. It was the perfect balance of rustic, cozy & warm. I asked him where he got everything he said mostly Target, Homegoods & the Dollar Store! I personally was inspired by his decorations and wanted to share because I think it’s perfect if you’re decorating for Thanksgiving this upcoming week or even later during the holiday season.

Amazing decorations aside, Friendsgiving was so special this year because of the people who came. I’m truly thankful for a group of people who make anywhere feel like “home.”
