Weekend Guide to New Orleans

HELLO FRIENDS! It’s been a minute. But I have a very important post to write. If you follow me on Instagram (& watched all my obnoxious instastories LOL), you know I was in New Orleans recently with one of my best friends, Kara. When I told people I was going to NOLA, everyone freaked out. And that’s putting it lightly. Y’all LOVE New Orleans. I was bombarded with recommendations of places to eat, things to do, cocktails to drink. Honestly, it was kind of overwhelming! But it gave Kara & me a good place to start (and since we couldn’t get to everything, an excuse to go back ;))

So for those of you wondering or planning your own NOLA trip, here’s a brief overview of the things we did/places we ate to help you out. Oh, and I also get why everyone loves NOLA. I’m obsessed with it & I’ll be returning ASAP. Enjoy!

Essential Oils Basics

Let’s talk essential oils. You’ve probably heard of them. With the rise~ of self-care, I feel like essential oils has become a buzzword. I personally didn’t know they existed until a yoga studio I used to go to started using them in them in diffusers and for hands on assists during practice. Since then, I’ve been using them a lot more in a variety of ways (more on that below!)

Not only do they smell amazinggg, essential oils have a lot of great health & wellness benefits. If you’re looking for a natural way to step up your wellness game, essential oils are definitely a great place to start. New Mindset, New Year

Hello! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted. SO long in fact, that my mother called me out on it & asked if I’m even writing anymore because she stopped receiving notifications about new blog posts (thanks, Karen, super subtle ;)) To be honest, I just hadn’t had anything I wanted to write about, but I just got a stroke of inspiration while filling out my daily mindfulness journal (it freaking rocks, shoutout to Danielle for this bday gift!) so here we are.

New Years is coming up. I’m not sure how you feel about 2018, 2019 or New Years in general, but I can say that I don’t particularly care for New Years Eve. It’s sort of a made up holiday to me? And I usually mark my years by my birthday (check out my 26 post if ya missed it!) rather than the calendar year. However, I do like the idea of a clean slate, fresh start & new intentions. As we move into 2019, I find myself wanting to start off on the right foot & in the right mindset. I don’t usually do resolutions (they don’t really resonate with me), but I’m planning to take the next couple days to get in the right mindset–leave some of the bullsh*t negativity in 2018 and make room for the good stuff. So I figured I’d list some ways to refresh your mindset as we enter the new year. Do all the things, do one of the things–doesn’t really matter, just find something to help you press “reset” so we can all start 2019 on a high note.
