Ampersand

“Resembling a broken infinity, the Ampersand reminds us that nothing truly lasts forever..but there is always an and.”

I stumbled upon this quote during one of my countless Pinterest sessions (full disclosure: I am a self-proclaimed pinning enthusiast), and ever since, the word “ampersand” has been quietly whispering in the back of my mind. As soon as I started toying with the idea of another blog, “ampersand” only got louder, declaring itself as the only appropriate theme for the written stories of a 21 year old girl who is learning that nothing lasts forever, yet remains hopeful because there is always a subsequent “and.” The story always goes on.

I’m not sure where this blog will take me or how many people will read it. All I know is this: I love to write and life is beautiful. I hope through writing, reliving, and sharing my stories, that I can experience life in a new way, through a passion of mine that I simply cannot ignore. I’m a 20-something year old with all the time in the world. I have enough life behind me to know that I barely know anything at all, and enough life ahead of me to excited about the unwritten unknown.

Things change. Nothing lasts forever. Yet when I sit down and recount my history of love, friendships, struggles, and triumphs, there is always an “and.” And then…and after that…and you’ll never guess what happens next!! The story keeps going. Each event, feeling, thought, all connected by that little three letter conjunction.

&. A broken infinity. A seemingly sad truth that nothing lasts forever, yet in itself says that something always comes after. Something more. And. Life cannot exist without “and.”

Let’s see where the and’s & ampersands take me.
