Coffee Shop Copy Cats

I’m not gunna lie–I’ve been craving Starbucks (specifically a iced caramel macchiato–my special occasions drink) for a solid two weeks now. Probably more so because I know I can’t just go out & get one. Oh the joys of quarantine.

However, just because we’re stuck in our homes without access to coffee shops does not mean we need to suffer from the lack of quality caffeinated drinks (although, some of your local coffee shops may be open & you should totally support them if can/want to!) As part of my job, I run a student Instagram account (seriously) & I recently posted how to make their favorite campus coffee shop drinks (heyyy @holygrounds) at home to “bring a little campus to them” in this weird/sad time. Got me thinking–I should share this former barista knowledge with a larger audience because who doesn’t love a great cup of coffee?

So below I have recipes/instructions for: cold brew, steamed frothy milk (to top your coffee/espresso and BAM you have a latte), chai tea latte (hot or chilled) & iced matcha latte. The photos at the bottom are little recipe cards to download/pin to Pinterest if you want to save them for later. Enjoy!

Likes & Favorites: Cats win it all!

It’s 9:34 p.m., Monday night–exactly one week after Villanova won the NCAA National Championship. One week ago, I was probably hyperventilating at this point in the game, even though it was only 4 minutes into the first half.

What have I been liked & favorited all week? Villanova EVERYTHING. I’ve been riding this championship high all week long. Hell, I’ll probably ride it for the rest of the year. For one week, I watched replays, read articles and incessantly liked social media posts about everything and anything remotely related to the Cats. Everyone did. That’s what made it so much more fun.

Well, Nova aside, there were some other things I’ve enjoyed things I enjoyed this week (believe it or not). Here’s what else I’ve been liking & favoriting. Continue reading

Likes & Favorites: Adulting (part 2)

Last week I defined adulting. This week I have a few thoughts on the subject:

1.  Going grocery shopping on a Sunday is like the Hunger Games. With everything being restocked, you have a slim chance of beating that suburban mom to that last container of hummus.

2. You don’t know the true meaning of “being broke” until you experience that pure joy of seeing your paycheck hit your bank account… only to see it quickly vanish because it’s time to pay rent.

3. Saturdays are for adventures. Sundays are for napping.

4. You’ll miss college in some regards but not having homework= heaven.

5. Post grad, you dread Monday’s more, but Friday’s are even sweeter.

6. You still save extra money to buy alcohol.

I’m sure I’ll have additional thoughts on the adulting matter, but for right now, here are the likes & favorites of the week.
