With the change of seasons (and your transition from iced coffees to PSL’s…), it’s the perfect time to make your bedroom extra cozy. Not sure where to start? Here are 5 ways to instantly cozy up your bedroom (that won’t break the bank.)
Grab some candles
Full disclosure: I have a small obsession with candles. Currently, I have 2 burning in my bedroom because 1. I love the smell and 2. candlelight instantly creates a cozy atmosphere. I’m always partial to fall-scented candles, but also love classic scents like vanilla for every day or pine tree for Christmas time. Another great option? Flameless candles that come with a timer. You can set them so they automatically go on in the evening and turn off during the night (some are even scented!)
Hang some Christmas lights
Along the same lines as candlelight, I love the look of white Christmas lights. You can hang them around your ceiling or drape them on your headboard. These lights are great because they’re battery operated and also come with a timer.
Lots of pillows & blankets
Who doesn’t love to sink into a comfy bed full of pillows? One of the first things I got when I moved into my apartment was a ton of decorative pillows & a throw blanket to match. Beyond your bed being extra cozy, a few strategically placed throw pillows upgrade your bedroom from dorm room to adult status.
Every time I walk into my parents’ house, it smells like apples, cinnamon & baking. I loved how relaxing and cozy my house was growing up, so I got the same air freshener my mom uses to recreate that feeling in my apartment. Plus, there are tons of different air freshener scents out there so you can change them up depending on your mood.
Every night before I go to bed, I spray my pillow with lavender mist and put on “Stress Relief” lotion (smells like eucalyptus and spearmint). As silly as it sounds, those simple two steps help me unwind from the day and feel ready to go to sleep. Sure way to guarantee sweet dreams.
Whether you buy a new candle or decide to totally redecorate with throw pillows, it’s easy to cozy up your room while sticking to your budget. Enjoy staying comfy & cozy this fall! &.
