I’m a sunset lover, sangria drinker, country-song singer & self-proclaimed s’mores enthusiast. Long weekends down the shore give me life again and there really isn’t anything better than the sound of the ocean on a perfect sunny day. Basically, summer is 100% the best time of the year & I’m liking/favoriting every bit of it–especially these summer staples.
All Covered Up
We spend all our effort finding the perfect suit, but usually forget about the cover-up. Sure, once we hit the sand it comes right off, but a cute cover-up is perfect for lounging by the pool or happy hour after a long day at the beach. I’ve spent years trying to find the perfect cover-up & finally found one (on sale!) last weekend. Easy & breezy.

Beach Beauty Basics
While summer is all about going au natural, there are a few products that I love for easy summer looks. Give them a try!
- For hair…I’m a big fan Aussie’s 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner (perfect for post-salt water waves) and Sun Bum Beach Formula Shine On Hair Treatment because it smells like summer (yum, coconut!) and keeps your hair frizz-free.
- For skin… Sunscreen is key. For my sensitive skin, I only use Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Sunscreen Body Mist and Olay’s All Day Moisturizer with SPF. But if you do happened to get burned (like me last weekend…), I’ve found that lathering on Vaseline’s Intensive Care lotion with aloe helps soothe your skin but also keeps it super moisturized.
- For nails...I’m obsessed with bright Essie nail polish & Essie’s gel top coat. It will change your life. Promise.
Summer Jams
What’s summer without rocking out in your car, windows rolled down, singing at the top of your lungs? I got some great playlists for you here, but Spotify’s “Summer Songs” is also great for that long drive to the shore.
Sippin’ on the beach…
If you want something cool & refreshing while you lay out, try this simple twist on fruit infused water. I stole this idea from my friend Maddie & it’s brilliant: next time you make ice cubes, throw fresh raspberries in the tray. Freeze. Then when you put them in your water, you’ll get a nice fruity flavor. Want to take it up a notch? Squeeze in some fresh lemon. Perfect way to stay hydrated.
…& playin’ in the sand.
But if you’re looking for something a little more fun… Mango Raspberry Mimosas are just for you. Thanks Krista for creating this fabulous recipe card!
