The Brunch Review: South + Pine

Alright, so I ~technically~ went here for dinner (not brunch), but it was so fab that I had to review it. All you Jersey readers, pay attention! This week I’m reviewing South + Pine in good ol’ Morristown, NJ.

Location: Morristown, NJ

What you’ll love: Just about everything. The atmosphere is rustic-chic. It’s in a great location (near the Green & next to the theater) and the food is actually to die for. I’m currently thinking of excuses to visit New Jersey just so I can go back.

For Starters: Try the Burrata. Not sure what burrata is? I didn’t know either. It’s basically creamy mozzarella with more creamy cheese inside. So no brainer. Or if you’re feeling more adventurous, the smoked duck sliders are bomb.

You’ll lick the plate… When you order the scallops. Holy crap, I loved those scallops. The parsnip puree, the mushrooms, the everything. I was in a state of pure bliss. The salmon with coconut quinoa also looked delicious, and I was tempted by the fried chix with a sweet potato waffle. Honestly, anything on their menu sounds mouth-watering.

I dream about those scallops

Do you want a side with that? Hell, yea you do. I recommend the Havarti Mac + Cheese or the roasted brussels sprouts.

Finish it off with: Any of their desserts. Seriously. Any.

The *: It’s BYOB so act accordingly.

Bottle of white, anyone?

The bottom line: South + Pine is great restaurant to go with your girlfriends, your significant other or your whole family. The unique seasonal menu may seem limited but honestly everything is good. It’s a good place for a special occasion (or just because).

Here’s to family dinners & exploring Jersey. {Shout out to the Peck & Jaworski families for such an awesome dinner!} &.
