I’m not fashion guru by any means, but I wanted to give making a style guide a try! So I recruited Krista & together we created the Ampersand Summer Style Guide (2015). Consider it a stylish Likes & Favorites for laid back (affordable) outfits to keep cool all summer long.
This summer, I’m all about the simple necklaces. Don’t get me wrong: statement necklaces are the bomb, but with the rest of my accessories, it’s a good time to tone it down. Sometimes simple can make a statement.
I adore my Villanova coordinate necklace.

Want something edgier?
Try a layered look!
{Layered Gold Necklace | Charming Charlie}
I wanted a simple, bright bag, just big enough for my wallet, phone and sunglasses. Perfect when you’re running errands or getting drinks with friends.
(You’ll never guess where I got this either!)
{Pretty Pink Clutch | Paper Source}
My sister is the queen of cool nails. I knew I wanted to feature her favorite polish in this post & she chose this unique nearly-neon green approximately 10 minutes before the shoot. Trust her on this, she’s an expert.
“Kash, I can’t take pictures without my nails done!”

(Did I mention she’s a Sephora junkie?)
Easily my favorite summer purchase. These Soft & Sexy tanks literally feel amazing and are easy to wear. They come in a bunch of colors and are perfect basic pieces to dress up or down. Plus, you can totally rock a bandeau or bralette with them. aka ultimate comfort.
Grey on grey.

{Lace Racerback Bralette | Aerie}
I have a new thing for high-waisted shorts. Krista has always had a thing for high-waisted shorts. Plus she has cooler pairs than I do, so she gets featured in this section.
(In case you were wondering, she made that strappy bralette)

{Flowy Purple Tank | Original from PacSun | Similar: Francesca’s}
For years, I searched for the perfect beach cover-up. Then this past spring, I saw this light-weight knit hoodie in a store window and immediately bought it. It’s great because it’s cool enough to wear on the beach but also protects you from the sun (if you’re pale like me).
Cute beach bag optional.
{Light Knit Cover Up | Original from Aerie | Similar: Victoria’s Secret}
{Neon Pink Bandeau Bikini | Target}
{Nautical Beach Bag | Original from H&M | Similar: Francesca’s}
The T-shirt dress. Comfortable enough to wear to bed but stylish enough to wear out. Accessorize it with anything, you can’t go wrong.
(Krista customized this plain t-shirt dress with an iron-on graphic)
{Basic T-Shirt Dress | Target}
I bought this dress for Senior Ball but I think it’s a great buy for any occasion! It’s cotton (so it’s super comfortable) and looks fancier than it actually is. Perfect for a summer wedding or nice dinner with a special someone.
Back it up.
{Cobalt Blue Maxi | Tobi}
Thus concludes the first Ampersand Summer Style Guide! Hope you got a little style inspiration, or at the very least enjoyed Krista & I pretending to be models.
Liking pretending to be stylish & Favoriting my model/photographer of a sister. &.
